Family Fun Day - 28th June 2014
Family Fun Day 28th organised by Bluestream Recruitment, Bright Sparks Science and Iain Urquhart of Charlie Laing was a great success, especially as the weather wasn’t very kind to us.
A great day all round, with an amazing range of activities to suit every member of the family, and we raised £3,698.05 to help the wonderful work at Helen & Douglas House.
The day was not only about raising money it was also about inspiring our next generation to look at Engineering, Environmental, Science and Technology, and by the look on the children’s faces and the wonderful feedback we have had, we certainly achieved our aim.
We would like to say a huge thank you to:
Dr Nanada Rodrigues of MRC, Dr Sophie Palmer of STFC, Emma of Science Oxford, Jenny and her team at Bright Sparks, for their wonderful hands on science activities
Ian Hall for his musical fruit and veg
Kirsty and Team from Miele for cup cake decorating – they used over 500 cakes and biscuits
David Wrigley of Chilton Garden Centre for planting seeds
Alan and his team form the Green School Bus
Thames Valley Police for their finger printing
Didcot Fire Service – a huge hit with the kids and the ladies
Bucks, Berks & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust
Abingdon Hydro, Shirley & Nic for their cycle tips
We would also like to say thank you to our generous sponsors:
Harwell Oxford RSRL - Research Sites Restoration Ltd Bookpoint
Abbey Press Petra Training
And finally not least, Linda Coker of Trends, Iain, the scouts and their mums, Nicola Gibbs of Nicola Gibbs Acupuncture, Susie Davies , Tara Derny and Wendy for their tremendous help and support on the day – we couldn’t have done it without you - THANK YOU
